BIO

Sara was born and raised by hippie parents in the south of Spain. She found a connection to the Buddhist path from a young age and started doing short retreats at O Sel Ling in Granada, Spain. In 2009 she traveled to Nepal and India to deepen her practice and study of the Dharma under teachers such as Dorzong Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche and Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. She also spent time studying Tibetan language at Manjushri Institute in Darjeeling. Sara met Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche in Bir in 2010 and soon after became his student; she has studied and practiced under his guidance ever since.

Sara moved to the US in 2014 and now works as a UX/UI designer for NASA in California. She continues to dedicate her other time to study, practice, and volunteer work for Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche’s organizations. Sara loves the ritual aspect of Vajrayana practice and has served as a chopon for the Bay Area sangha and at drupchens with Rinpoche. She also works occasionally as a Spanish interpreter for Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche’s teachings and as a Spanish translator of his writings. She is delighted to serve as an instructor for the Ngondro Gar and looks forward to supporting and encouraging students along the path.

Sara is a native Spanish speaker but is also fluent in English. Students are welcome to write to her in either language.
