Jakob has been appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche as his resident teacher in Australia, where he has lived and taught since 2008.
He began his studies of Buddhism in 1974 and studied with numerous great teachers, including Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Jakob completed a three year retreat in 1984 and worked with translation and interpreting in the years that followed. He has since completed a BA in Tibetan Studies, and has taught Buddhist theory and practice for SI since 1998. He lives with his family in New South Wales and teaches in Australia and New Zealand.
