Cydney was born on Oahu and raised on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. She went to college in Washington State and moved to Seattle in 1983 after completing nursing school. She currently resides and works as a nurse in Seattle. Cydney first stepped onto the Buddhist path by taking refuge with HH Jigdal Dagchen Rinpoche at the Sakya Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism in 2000 and practiced Chenrezi there until 2009. After hearing, contemplating and meditating on the profound Dharma for seven years, she became a student of Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche.  She completed a three year retreat at Vajradhara Gonpa in Australia in 2012. As she has heard Rinpoche say on several occasions, 'Ngondro is not something you do just so you can get to the higher practices, it's not something you check off your "To Do" list, it is so profound that if any part of it is fully realized, that's it!'.  As a Ngondro Gar instructor, Cydney's aim is to support/assist/encourage you as you embark on these precious, powerful and profound practices.
